One film that's being talked about for its innovative promos and the look of the lead stars is Padam Kumar's SUPARI. Though the film stars four relatively new faces Rahul Dev, Uday Chopra, Purab Kohli and Aakash Saigal the film has generated tremendous response thanks to its stylish promos. Padam, who has CHAMPION [Sunny Deol Manisha Koirala] to his credit as director, is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. The director would be touring Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Indore, Bangalore and Kolkata, along with the cast of the film, from March 31 onwards. The stars of the film will distribute T-shirts [with the film's logo printed on them], sign CDs and audio cassettes and interact with the common man, Padam reveals. He has also decided to hold preview shows of the film for select journalists in every city, he adds. On the distribution front, Padam has entrusted the Mumbai rights to Yashraj Films, not because Uday stars in the film, but because they liked what they saw, Padam clarifies. In the overseas territory too, Padam says he has decided to release the film extensively. With a title like SUPARI and having no crowd-pulling names in its cast, having a theatrical release in the U.S. and U.K. is next to impossible, Padam admits, but my Overseas distributor is more than confident of the film and has decided to give it a proper release. SUPARI is slated for release on April 18 or 25.
