Aamir Khan's statement that he and his wife have discussed leaving India due to its growing intolerance has brought a sharp response from fellow-actor thespian Naseeruddin Shah.

Speaking exclusively on the subject Naseer commented, "For Aamir to say this, it carries weight but I am not contemplating going anywhere and anyone trying to drive me out of my home that is India will have one hell of a fight on his hands."

Some time ago Naseer had been attacked for his views of an open-border policy vis-a-vis Pakistan.
Naseer had reacted by saying, "My name is Naseeruddin Shah and I believe that's why I was targeted. It really pains me to say this. I have never been aware of my identity until now."
Naseer has now admitted the pain he felt at being targeted did not take away from his unshakable faith in the Indian democratic system.
