SMS 1 : Sanjay Dutt is the cop in Kaante who foils the robbery plan. Spread the word. SMS 2 : Kumar Gaurav is the cop. SMS 3 : Mahesh Manjrekar is the cop. SMS 4 : Amitabh himself is the cop. The Mobile phones in the city of Bombay were buzzing with SMS messages of these kinds. While the SMS did not bear the sender's name, there are a lot of possibilities of the nature of its origin. Perhaps, some unit member decided to reveal the secret and in order to counter this, the publicists did resort to send similar messages of this kind so as to keep the suspense alive. The other theory doing rounds is that it was a publicity gimmick initiated by the producers themselves to keep the film hot and 'thorny' in the wake of it being delayed due to accusations of Sanjay's underworld links. Sanjay's obsession for underworld has been seen in the reel life in his films like Khalnayak, Vaastav & Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin. His forthcoming flick Maine Dil Tujhko Diya will also see him doing a similar role. So will we see his obsession in Kaante too?
