The Bhojpuri-speaking belt has much to be happy about with Aamir Khan's on-release film PK.

Aamir Khan has decided to kick off his multi-city promotional tour of the film in December with the Bhojpur district.

 

Says a source, "There was a meeting last week to decide the key centers where the team needs to visit for promotion. Aamir insisted that the tour start in the Bhojpur district. Bhojpuri is a key element in the film and the title character of PK, played by Aamir Khan speaks only Bhojpuri throughout the film."

 

Curiosity about PK is especially high in Bihar and UP where Bhojpuri is spoken. Roshan Singh a leading exhibitor says, "Aamir Khan speaking Bhojpuri is a huge turn-on in Bihar and UP. We expect an even bigger turn-out for PK than 3 Idiots (Hirani and Khan's earlier collaboration)."

 

Interestingly, the original plan was to make Aamir's character speak Rajasthani. It was Aamir Khan who insisted on the character speaking Bhojpuri.
