Midweek B.O.: 'Karthik' decent at select plexes, 'Teen Patti' poor
| Film | Cast | Plusses | Minusses | Verdict |
Karthik>
| Farhan Akhtar, Deepika Padukone, Ram Kapoor, Shifaali Shah, Vivan Bhatena, Tarana, Vipin Sharma, Yatin Karyekar | Interesting concept and Farhan's excellent performance | Climax is a downer | Performed well at select plexes of big centres mainly. The single screens weren't encouraging. The huge pick up in business is missing! |
My>
| Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Jimmy Shergill, Sonya Jehan, Zarina Wahab, Arjun Mathur, Parvin Dabas, Arif Zakaria, Sugandha Garg, Navneet Nishan, Vinay Pathak, Tanay Chheda, Yuvaan Makaar | An exceptional film in all respects | A bit lengthy towards the second hour | Given its good business in India [plexes mainly] and extra-ordinary business in Overseas, Fox should recover a big chunk of the revenue from theatrical rights. The additional non-theatrical revenue should ensure profits for the distributors |
3>
| Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, Omi | An outstanding, incredible, superb film in all respects | Difficult to find | Super Blockbuster |
Teen>
| Amitabh Bachchan, Madhavan, Siddharth Kher, Shraddha Kapoor, Vaibhav Talwar, Dhruv Ganesh, Raima Sen, Barry John, Anjan Srivastava, Mahesh Manjrekar, Saira Mohan, Sir Ben Kingsley | Good performances. Also, film appeals in parts | Script should've been simplified | Extremely poor opening weekend |
Toh>
| Tabu, Sharman Joshi, Vatsal Sheth, Yuvika Choudhary, Ayub Khan, Sharat Saxena, Himani Shivpuri, Suhasini Mulay, Upasna Singh | Decent performances | Screenplay doesn't hold | Flop |
