Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, producer Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta and director Anurag Singh attended the teaser launch of one of the biggest films of 2026, Border 2. The teaser had caught attention, especially the end dialogue of Lt Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler (Sunny Deol) who asks, ‘Awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye?’. The soldiers reply, ‘Lahore tak’. At the teaser launch, it came to light that this dialogue became a part of the film, thanks to Varun Dhawan.
Anurag Singh said, “We were shooting in NDA (National Defence Academy) at the parade ground. An instructor was training some cadets and he felt that they were not being energetic. He asked them, 'Awaaz kyun nahin nikal rahi tumhari? Yeh awaaz kahan tak jaani chahiye?'. All the 50-100 cadets screamed in unison, 'Lahore tak'!”
Anurag continued, “We were standing nearby aur achanak se hamare kaan khade ho gaye. We wondered ki yeh kya cheez hai. We went up to them and asked them about it. The instructor said, 'Hum log aise hi bolte hai'. This is when Varun told me, 'This is a great line. We should include it in the film'.”
Varun Dhawan then added, “Anurag believes that if something is not a part of the script, then he won't add it! I directly went up to him and insisted, 'Sir, yeh add kar lo. Yeh asli moment hai. Hamare saamne ho raha hai. Please use it'. He joked, 'I'll only use it in the teaser'! I was not sure whether he would incorporate it. So, I spoke to Sunny paaji and persuaded him.”
Varun also revealed, “I was in the scene when Sunny sir said the dialogue. I had goosebumps. The NDA trainer remarked, 'Awaaz (Labore) pahuch hi gayi hogi'!”
Border 2 releases in cinemas on January 23, 2026.
