Ameesha Patel is all hearts for her Humraaz co-star Akshaye Khanna, who has made a roaring comeback to the big screen with two back-to-back hits – Chhaava and now Dhurandhar. The actor, who once dominated Bollywood in the early 2000s, has returned to the limelight, and audiences can’t stop praising his stellar performances.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ameesha penned a heartfelt note, lauding Khanna’s resurgence and his ability to shine without relying on PR gimmicks. She wrote, “If u want to trend on social media then talk about AKHSAY KHANNA ??I’f u want ur film to run then let’s take AKSHAY KHANNA ??.. .. seems like Brand AKSHAY has finally opened the eyes of all who were blind for so many Years and all seem to suddenly find their long lost love for him??proud of u Akshu for slapping all with ur performances n not PR”.

This isn’t the first time Ameesha has expressed admiration for Khanna. Just last week, she shared a throwback photo on Instagram from their Humraaz days, captioning it, “GREATNESS THEN n EVEN GREATER NOW!! That’s AKSHAY KHANNA ( AKSHU as I fondly call him ) !! Yet most unassuming n ego less !! Throwback in LONDON during HUMRAAZ promotions with at dinner along with my cousins from PARIS !!! I don’t even think AKSHU realises he has BLOWN the NATION with his performances this year !! That’s AKSHU !! Humble n unaffected !!”

Speaking of Dhurandhar, Khanna plays the pivotal role of Rehman Dakait – a Baloch gangster that has captured audience attention. The espionage thriller, inspired by true events, is set in Pakistan during 1999 and stars Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Rangi aka Hamza Mazari. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The first instalment hit theatres on December 5, with the second part expected soon.
