I must confess that I am a Shahid fan but I was heading to this movie thanks to my dad, who insisted we go watch the movie to get me out of my bad mood. It's not that I didn't want to see CPD, but the lack of attention-grabbing promos and poor reviews made me not want to see Shahid's latest disappoint me.

However, sometimes lack of expectations can be good. CPD isn't a great movie but it isn't bad. As a matter of fact, compared to the majority of trash churned out by Bollywood, it is actually entertaining.

The film has a bit of everything: romance, emotion, comedy, and dance of course. Unfortunately, none of these aspects are truly mind-blowing, and thus the movie remains average.

The story is simple and takes the usual twists and turns. Shahid's dance moves are fabulous and you keep wishing there was more. If he ever does a true musical (ie Dil To Pagal Hai), the cash registers won't stop ringing.

Perhaps the biggest drawback of this movie is the lack of hit musical score. A dance movie needs a superhit soundtrack before the release. It's not like the songs are bad but we are lacking a "Dhan te nan" or "Mauja hi Mauja."

The theater audience comprised of 80% women with the majority being under 25s. Thanks to Shahid's fan following it should be an average grosser but I am still waiting for an amazing Shahid movie to follow Jab We Met and Kaminey.
