Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan had a Disney theme party for their daughter Aaradhya last week. While most parents would be happy to celebrate their child’s birthday by throwing a theme party at home or a hotel but Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are not your usual, run-of-the-mill parents. They gave their adorable son, Azad Rao, a taste of a real theme park, when they took him to one last week to celebrate his birthday. Azad celebrates his sixth birthday on December 1 but his parents decided to treat him gift him to his treat a few days earlier. They took him to Adlabs Imagica, a 130-acre theme park, in Khopoli, outside Mumbai. The family was accompanied by Aamir’s elder son Junaid, the Khans staff and a team of bodyguards.
Says a source, “They went on a Saturday as it was the weekend and Azad has school on his birthday and spent almost an entire day at the theme park. Kiran made sure that everybody in the staff – from Azad’s nanny to Aamir’s bodyguards went on the rides and everybody had a great time (as can be seen in these pictures). Later in the afternoon, Azad cut two cakes with his family and the staff at Imagica who had dressed up in different costumes for Azad to celebrate the occasion.”
The source says that Kiran and Aamir specifically chose Imagica to celebrate Azad’s birthday as would be a memorable one for him. “It’s a huge park and has three parks – theme, water and snow. Aamir and Junaid went on most of the rides and the water park too while Kiran and Azad went on a few rides, with their entire staff, including the Rajasaurus River Adventure Ride. Everybody was seen having a wonderful time and decided that they would come back again soon!”
Later that night, Azad had a small birthday party for his close friends and gave away cute return gift bags to his guests. Says the source, “They were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bags with the green swords they wear, goodies (including candies and chocolates) and even a Kung Fu book for kids. Azad is a huge fan of the Ninja Turtles. They are four fictional teenaged turtles who are trained in the art of ninjutsu. From their home in the sewers of New York City, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, mutated creatures, and alien invaders while attempting to remain hidden from society and Azad loves to read about them – hence the specialized goodie bag.”
