Hichki has started well at the Box Office. The opening in the morning and afternoon shows was on the expected lines as the footfalls were not really there. However, there was always hope that by the time the evening shows would commence, family audiences at urban centers would begin to gather. This is what happened too as momentum started building up in the evening. This is the trend as well for films belonging to this genre, stage, set up and cast, and hence there was no real surprise. That said, the crowds were still relatively bigger than expected due to which collections came out better.
With Rs. 3.30 crore, the film has taken a respectable start and now it would all about the kind of growth that is evidenced today and tomorrow. The film may not have been hailed to the skies but then there is nothing negative being said about it either. With reviews ranging from average to very good, the balance is there and that should help it make an overall positive fare.
Rani Mukherji’s last release Mardaani had taken a start of Rs. 3.46 crore and now Hichki has comparable numbers to boast of. As a matter of fact Mardaani was a relatively more commercial film and hence the kind of numbers that Hichki has brought in gives it hopes to have a sustained week ahead. While Mardaani had enjoyed a weekend of Rs. 14.34 crore, one now waits to see where Hichki land up before it steps into the weekdays.
