Yash urges people to not to ill-treat Hindi film industry: “Respect Bollywood; Forget this North and south” : Bollywood News

Kannada superstar Yash has created the kind of rage which reminds us of 80s Bollywood. The actor has had a tremendous year with K.G.F: Chapter 2. While South movies have done well in the North, there have been conversations about whether Hindi films are done since there were very few hit films in 2022. However, Yash says it is simply a phase and there is no reason to ill-treat Bollywood.

In an interview with Film Companion, Yash said, “I don’t want the people of Karnataka to put any other industry down, because we have faced that problem when everyone treated us like that. We have worked hard to get that respect. After that, we cannot start ill-treating anyone. We should respect everybody. Respect Bollywood. Forget this North and south.”

Yash added, “It’s not good to corner anyone. It’s not a good development when someone starts ridiculing Bollywood saying, ‘They are nothing.’ It’s just a phase. They have taught us so many things.”

In the same conversation, when asked about how fans are type-casting him in action roles, Yash said, “Lot of people ask me, what do you do now, what can you do (post KGF success), I said what do you think, this is the ultimate (the success of KGF and box office numbers) maybe it is for you or someone else. I'm not somebody who is going to say that I must just encash this success, establish myself and just relax now. I'm not somebody who is built for administration, I'm somebody who is built to conquer much more. I’ll do something which gives me excitement. It’s okay if I die fighting but I am somebody who will be fighting for something that excites me.”

Yash has given the biggest blockbuster of the year with K.G.F: Chapter 2 with global box office records crossing Rs. 1250 crores. The actor will next star in the third installment of the film reuniting with Prashanth Neel.
