Hombale Films that has made blockbuster successes like K.G.F franchise and Kantara is planning to invest a whopping Rs. 3,000 crore in Indian entertainment industry.

Production house Hombale Films that has made blockbuster successes like K.G.F franchise and Kantara is planning to invest a whopping Rs. 3,000 crore in Indian entertainment industry over the period of next five years. The plan is to release multiple films a year with a tentpole movie.

Speaking to PTI, Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films, said, “We intend to invest Rs 3,000 crore for the next five years in the entertainment industry in India. We believe the entertainment industry will grow more and more.”

"It will be a mixed bag of stories. Every year there will be five-six films including one event movie. As of now we have plans of making movies in all south languages,” Kiragandur said.

The producer further added that the aim is to reach out to wider audience with rooted stories. “We want to make something that is liked by the global audience, but we want it to be rooted in our culture and tradition. We want to leave something behind for the younger generation. We also want to contribute towards the Indian economy,” he added.

Hombale Films partner Chaluve Gowda said that they have writers from Bollywood who are penning scripts for them. Without divulging into details and or who these writers are, he said that they are working with couple of writers and once the story is locked, they will then be on a lookout for actors and directors. They want to concentrate on the writers who create stories.

Hombale Films has an array of lineup including Prabhas-starrer Salaar, set to be released on September 28, 2023. The action adventure film is directed by KGF director, Prashanth Neel. The production is also backing a social thriller Tyson with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Richard Anthony with Rakshit Shetty and a film with Sudha Kongara. There’s plenty of projects in the pipeline.
