Telugu actor Allu Arjun will be seen on the big screen after a year and a half. He is currently gearing up for the release of Ala Vaikunthapurramloo which is scheduled to release during Sankranti. The trailer of the film was released on Sunday, nearly a week before the release of the film. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Allu Arjun explained why regional films release trailer closer to the release that as opposed to Bollywood who release months in advance.
The trailer of Bollywood movies is launched at least a month in advance to create a buzz around the film. When Allu Arjun was asked about this difference, he said, “It has two things. One is that it is one single market; it is a regional market and one single state, so the penetration is much easier. So the actors and audience are much more connected. So it is easier and penetration is faster.”
He further compared this with films that release on a national scale. “Whereas I think at the national scale it takes that much time because there are so many states and it has to go to the last person. You also need to buy the mind space of all the people. I think penetration takes time on a national scale. I think if anybody came on to the national scale, you have to give that much time. Regional it is easier, as penetration is faster.”
Allu Arjun is an actor who does not come up with films frequently. When asked the reason behind this, he said, “To be honest, it is something we have been working on. I think I just have to be a little more organized and plan a little more and I think it is more about my mindset and planning. I think if I plan better I can do more films. My last release was one and a half years ago and in the gap, I have understood how to plan better and I don’t think next time this problem would be there.”
Ala Vaikunthapurramloo is directed by Trivikram Srinivas and also stars Pooja Hegde and Tabu. The film is slated to release on January 12.
