Vijay Deverkonda keeps his Liger promise, gets Indian Idol 12 finalist Shanmukha Priya to sing for the film : Bollywood News

Actor Vijay Deverkonda kept his promise and got Shankmukha Priya, who was the finalist of Indian Idol 12, sing for his upcoming film Liger. For the unversed, the south star had sent a video message for the young singer during the finale of Indian Idol 12 and promised to get her to sing in one of his movies.

In the video, Vijay said, “Today, is the finale. Forget winning. Forget losing. Forget everything. Just have a blast. Give it your all, own that stage and completely enjoy the show. I send all my wishes to contestants and judges. Shanmukha Priya, you are coming back to Hyderabad and meeting me. You are singing for me in my film. It’s a deal. Good luck.” This message left Shanmukha Priya and her family surprised and overjoyed.

And now, in a video shared by Dharma Productions, Vijay is seen greeting Shanmukha and her mother at his residence. The actor said that he and director Puri Jagannadh watched some of her videos and they have decided to make her sing in his upcoming film Liger. Vijay also tells her that he fulfilled his promise to which Shanmukha said, “and so soon”. In the video, we also see Shanmukha recording the song and Vijay’s mother felicitating the singer with some presents.

The official Instagram handle of Dharma Productions shared the video and wrote, “#LigerPromise The #LigerPromise fulfilled by @thedeverakonda! Making a dream come true, here's welcoming the talented #ShanmukhaPriya on board for #Liger!”

Vijay also shared the same video on his Instagram handle and wrote, “Welcome @shanmukhapriya_1925 on board #Liger There is no greater happiness than being able to make someone’s dream come true : )Team #Liger welcomes this little rockstar SMP on board our terrific album!”

Ananya Panday will be co-starring opposite Vijay in Liger, which is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta under Puri Connects and Dharma Productions banners. The film will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
