Taking to Twitter the actor made two major announcements. He shared a 11-minute long video on YouTube explaining how the Foundation operates and how they plan on helping people affected by coronavirus. Vijay said that they will be addressing both immediate requirements and future requirements. “Most of the world's economists are worried that the real battle starts after this crisis is over. What is that battle? Employment. Now employment generation is going to be a big challenge across the world. We are going to address this issue from our side. In July 2019, I started a secret project. The project's dream is to employ One lakh people in my lifetime. So, in August 2019, we hired a passionate team for this secret project.  The first goal was to employ 50 young boys and girls. In Sept 2019, 650 boys and girls from rural areas sent their profiles, all of them looking for employment. In October, 650 people were shortlisted to 120. These 120 were brought to Hyderabad on our own expenses, interviewed and assessed them based on their performance. In November, we selected our first batch of 50 students. We trained them in the field of their choice.,” said Vijay in the video.

"I thought of keeping it a secret because I only wanted to announce it when I had behind me 50 happy, successfully employed boys and girls. But this situation called for it. Though most of the students' employment got stalled due to this crisis, I am still happy as two of them have already got their offer letters. The rest of the 48 people are also in the final stages of the process and I am sure they too will be employed right after this crisis," the actor said.

"The second reason I am very happy about this is that now, more than ever, this employment generation, this training youth in their skill set, is one of the biggest needs at this hour.  And I am happy that we got an early start. We set up a team. We now have a system in place. So, soon after this crisis is over we are ready to take on more students and make sure more people get employed,” he further said.

The Arjun Reddy actor said that he is committing Rs. 1 crore for Youth employment programme. Additionally, his clothing brand Rowdy wear and their King of the Hill production house are going to create a variety of employment opportunities.

As far as the immediate requirements are concerned regarding food and other basic necessities, Vijay has started the Middle-Class Fund, the details for which are available on The Deverakonda Foundation Website. The actor has started the fund with a sum of Rs. 25 lakhs. The actor urged people who are not getting paid during this crisis or having trouble making ends meet to give their details on his website. They will have to go through five simple steps:

  1. Fill the form
  2. TDF team will call you
  3. Go to your nearest kirana store or supermarket
  4. Buy your essentials.
  5. Their team will directly pay the shopkeeper.

The details on the budget and what consists of essentials has been listed on the website. Apart from the above, the foundation has also donated Rs. 5 lakhs to the Corona Crisis Charity which provides financial help to daily wage workers of Telugu Film Industry.
