Vijay Antony and his family are grieving the loss of their daughter Meera, who is said to have been found hanging at their residence in Chennai reportedly at 3am on September 19. The news sent shock waves across the people in the Tamil film industry, who took to the social media platform to express grief over the incidence. Vijay Antony, who is known the multi-faceted artist of the Tamil film industry, also took to the platform on September 21, to pen a heartfelt note about his 16-year-old and express his grief.

In the note he posted in Tamil on X, formerly known as Twitter, Vijay Antony addressed to everyone and revealed that he too died with his daughter. The letter read, “To all kind-hearted souls, My daughter Meera is a very loving and brave girl. She is not in this world and has now moved to a much peaceful world which is devoid of caste, religion, money, patience, pain, poverty, and vengeance. She is still talking to me. I died with her. I have started spending more time with her now. All the good deeds I will be doing in her name, will be initiated by her only. - Vijay Anthony,” he signed off. Many of his fans and followers expressed their condolence, as they continued to send ‘Stay Strong’ message to the star.

As per reports, Meera was a topper of her school and also excelled in extra curricular activities. She was reportedly the cultural leader of the institution. Although there are no details of her sudden demise, certain reports have stated that the teenage girl decided to take this step because she was under too much pressure.

Meera is the eldest daughter of Vijay and Fatima Antony. The couple also have another daughter named Laara.
