The Chiyaan Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer Thangalaan was released in cinemas yesterday. The film, directed by Pa Ranjith, released on Independence Day amid many other releases. While fans of Chiyaan Vikram were eagerly waiting to see his performance in the film along with Pa Ranjith's direction, the music composed by GV Prakash Kumar which were unveiled ahead of the release received love from many. Considering how the music has fared, producer of the historical action fantasy drama decided to do something special for the famous musician.
To express gratitude, Studio Green's producer, K.E. Gnanavel Raja penned down a note for the national award-winning music composer showering his immense love for his folk compositions in the film. In the letter he wrote, “Dear GV, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the phenomenal music and background score you crafted for Thangalaan. Your work truly elevated the film, adding layers of emotion, intensity and atmosphere that perfectly complemented the story. The music not only resonated with me but also left a lasting impact that i'll carry with me for a long time. It's clear that a lot of passion and dedication went into every note, and it made the cinematic experience all the more memorable.”
He continued, “Thank You for sharing your extraordinary talent with us. I'm eagerly looking forward to your future projects and the musical journeys you'll take us on next.” He signed off the note with “Warm Regards”. GV Prakash too reciprocated to this by posting it on the social media platform X, aka Twitter, and shared, “Thank u gnanavelraja sir #thangalaan ???????????? @StudioGreen2 @NehaGnanavel”
Further speaking about the film, set in 1850 CE in Veppur village of North Arcot, tribals headed by their chief, Thangalaan, search for gold in Kolar Gold Fields under the command of British officer Lord Clement but their search earns the wrath of the local sorceress Aarathi, resulting in a conflict between them and the mystical force. Apart from Chiyaan Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Malavika Mohanan, the film also stars Daniel Caltagirone, Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Arjun Anbudan and Preeti Karan. It released in cinemas on August 15 in multiple languages including Hindi.
