Suriya gave a shoutout to Chiyaan Vikram and director Pa Ranjith's upcoming film Thangalaan, with its release right around the corner. While the actor has always cheered for his colleagues and friends in the Indian film industry, this time around he congratulated director Pa Ranjith, the leading actor Vikram, and the entire team ahead of the film's release on India’s Independence Day.

On August 14, Suriya took to the social media platform X, aka Twitter, and shared the Tamil poster of Thangalaan and wrote, "This win will be huge!!" He also tagged the entire cast and crew in his post. Director Pa Ranjith was overwhelmed seeing Suriya's post and replied to him with a note, thanking him and saying, "Thank you sir #Suriya_offl (sic)," he replied. Actor Vikram too expressed his gratitude towards the actor and added, "Thank you”.

About Thangalaan

Written and directed by Pa Ranjith, it is a historical drama based on true events that transpired in the 19th Century when the British Raj looted the Kolar Gold Fields. The film features a star-studded cast including Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai in key roles. The script was co-written by Ranjith along with Tamil Prabha and Azhagiral Periyavan. The film will be releasing on August 15 in multiple languages including all South languages and Hindi.

About Suriya’s upcoming projects

Meanwhile, Suriya too is gearing up for the Pan-India release of Kanguva which will mark the Tamil debut of Bollywood actors, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. It is all set to release on October 10, 2024, whereas the makers recently unveiled the trailer of this action fantasy drama.
