Sources close to the film revealed that by inviting Yash to this special preview, the makers plan to not only honor his significant contribution to bringing KGF’s story to the big screen but also want to celebrate the cultural and historical resonance that connects the two films. A source close to the makers shared, “The makers of Thangalaan are planning a special movie screening for KGF star Yash as the film’s backstory is based on Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).”

This event promises to be a meaningful tribute to the shared history and cinematic portrayal of Kolar Gold Fields, offering Yash a firsthand experience of how his role has influenced and inspired new narratives in Indian cinema. His portrayal of a defiant and ambitious underdog who rises from the dusty streets of Kolar to become a formidable force in the gold mines captured the imagination of millions. Meanwhile, Thangalaan is going to be yet another cinematic spectacle from the South which explores the real story of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) that is, when it was discovered by the British who exploited and looted it for their own purpose.

Directed by Pa. Ranjith, Thangalaan starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead along with Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu in prominent roles. It is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 15, 2024, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The music of the film is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
