Thalapathy Vijay recently unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming film Master. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj also stars Vijay Sethupathi. The team of Master is currently shooting for the film in Chennai. According to reports, the film is not an original script but is inspired by Korean film titled Silenced. The film was released in 2011 and is considered one of the most revolutionary films of all time. Silenced, directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk is based on the novel The Crucible written by Gong Ji-young. The film follows the story of a professor who fights against the sexual and physical abuse against school students.
Reportedly, Vijay too is essaying the role of a college professor in the film. However, sources close to Master have denied that the film is an adaptation of the Korean drama. The makers haven’t reacted to the film’s controversy yet.
Recently, the makers of Master got involved in a controversy while shooting at a school for visually challenged students in Chennai. The team was allegedly smoking on the campus which did not go down well with the team of tobacco Monitor App who filed a complaint against them.
The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Antony Varghese, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj Soundarya Nandakumar and Ramya Subramanian in pivotal roles. The film is expected to hit the theatres in summer 2020. Produced by XB Film Creators, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who is collaborating with Vijay after Kaththi and the cinematography is by Sathyan Sooryan.
