Actor Suriya became emotional at the pre-release event of his upcoming film Kanguva in Hyderabad. He reflected on not having a theatrical release for nearly two and a half years and was brought to tears by the warm reception for the re-release of Surya S/O Krishnan. Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva, is set for a grand release in theaters across multiple languages on November 14.

Speaking at the event, Suriya said, “It's been two plus years since I had a theatrical release. But still when Surya S/O Krishnan came, you all were here. I literally got tears watching your love. Thank you so much for your love. Thank you for all this. It really means a lot. I feel that we're all connected by blood. We're all connected. This bond is really special for me. Thank you.”

Surya S/O Krishnan was re-released in theaters earlier this year, where fans flocked to enjoy the film. Audiences celebrated by dancing and reenacting the iconic dialogues during the screening.

Suriya has been working on director Siruthai Siva's Kanguva for over two years. His last release was director Pandiraj's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which premiered in 2022.

Excited about his upcoming big-budget film, Kanguva, Suriya will portray two characters—Kanguva and Francis Theodore. The supporting cast includes Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, and Anandraj.
