Filmmaker Atlee has shared details about his upcoming project, tentatively titled AA22XA6, and his continued collaboration with actor Deepika Padukone. The film, which also stars Allu Arjun in the lead, has been in the spotlight since its official announcement, particularly after Deepika’s involvement was revealed through a promotional asset.
In a recent interaction with a publication, Atlee spoke about working with Deepika for the second time after Jawan and described their professional equation. Referring to the actor as his “lucky charm,” Atlee said, “Yes, she's my lucky charm. This is my second film with Deepika, and she's wonderful to work with. She's just unbelievable.”
Atlee’s comments come at a time when AA22XA6 is being positioned as one of his more ambitious projects, following the commercial success of Jawan. While the director has not shared specific details about the plot or character arcs, he indicated that Deepika Padukone’s role will present her in a new screen avatar.
Speaking about the timing of the film, Atlee noted that AA22XA6 will be Deepika’s first project after embracing motherhood. “And I think after motherhood, she's starting this film, and you are going to see a very different Deepika for sure,” he said.
The filmmaker did not elaborate further on how the role differs from her previous work, but his statement has prompted speculation among fans about the nature of her character. The production team has maintained confidentiality around the film’s storyline, scale, and supporting cast.
AA22XA6 marks Atlee’s first collaboration with Allu Arjun, bringing together talent from different film industries. The project is expected to be mounted on a large scale, though timelines and release details have yet to be officially announced.
Apart from AA22XA6, Deepika Padukone also has another major release lined up. She will next be seen in King, scheduled to release on December 24, where she reunites with Shah Rukh Khan following their earlier collaborations.
Atlee, meanwhile, continues to remain guarded about his upcoming directorial choices, stating only that AA22XA6 is a project he has been developing carefully. More information regarding the film is expected to be revealed in the coming months.
