About two years ago, Samantha Ruth Prabhu left her fans shocked by not just revealing about her separation from Naga Chaitanya but also opened up about her myositis diagnosis for which she had started undergoing treatment. Although she assured her concerned fans about being on the road recovery, in order to help them, she decided to host a podcast to help them understand about autoimmune diseases. During the same, Samantha also described the phase she underwent when she was separating from her former co-star and husband.

In the podcast, as she discussed her journey pre and post myositis, Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed about the year before she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease and called it ‘difficult’. She told in the podcast, “I remember specifically the year before I had this problem, it was an extremely difficult year for me. I specifically remember the day that I think my friend/ partner/ manager Himank, and I were traveling back from Mumbai. And this was in June of the year before last, and I remember telling him that finally I feel calm. I haven’t felt a little relaxed and a little calm in a very, very long time. And I finally feel like I can breathe, and I can go to sleep, and I can now wake up and focus on my work and be the best that I can be at work. And I woke up with this condition,”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, who tied the knot in 2017, were one of the most beloved couples in the South industry. But unfortunately, after four years of marriage, they announced their separation. Just as the couple were seen moving on from their divorce, the actress was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder. After completing her pending projects including the web-series Citadel with Varun Dhawan, Samantha announced her break from acting for some time.
