The trio of S.S. Rajamouli, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan is currently being celebrated across the world, courtesy the Oscar win of their film RRR. But what many didn’t know is that S.S. Rajamouli and Jr NTR have worked together in the past. In fact, adding further to the recent celebrations, their collaboration Simhadri, a Telugu action entertainer is all set to re-release in theatres. Fans have decided to celebrate the big Academy Awards win and Jr NTR’s birthday in a special way by featuring one of his biggest blockbusters on the big screen.
Recently, trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced about the good news on social media, stating that the film will be releasing on May 20, 2023, two decades after the original release and that too in 4K. For the unversed, Simhadri, which originally released on July 9 2003, features Jr NTR in an action packed avatar and he will be seen doing some over-the-top stunts in this commercial entertainer. The film also stars Bhumika Chawla, Ankitha Jhaveri in lead roles and was known for its adrenaline-pumping action sequences.
The film revolved around an orphan Simhadri, who decides to take up the mission of reuniting his foster family after circumstances lead to the separation of their eldest daughter. With Nassar, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Dev, Bhanu Chander, among others essaying pivotal roles, the film, it was written by V. Vijayendra Prasad and directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The film was also remade in several other languages including Tamil and Kannada.
On the other hand, talking about Jr NTR, the upcoming birthday is definitely going to be special for the star with the global success of RRR. The action entertainer featuring him in the role of a revolutionary set in the pre-Independence era, has also garnered him fans internationally.
