Actor Naga Chaitanya has unveiled the first glimpse of his upcoming film Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Dandu. The project, described as a mythical thriller, is backed by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings, with Bapineedu presenting the film.
The glimpse opens with a supernatural sequence in which a possessed individual sketches an image that soon materialises in reality, leading to a sudden death. A voiceover suggests that when dark forces emerge, destiny appoints a “Vrushakarma” to confront them. The clip ends with Chaitanya’s character stepping forward to face the threat.
The visuals indicate that the film will blend mythology with elements of fantasy and visual effects. Chaitanya appears in a rugged look, suggesting a physically demanding role. The glimpse also briefly features Sparsh Shrivastava as the antagonist, hinting at a central conflict. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead, while Jayaram appears in a key role.
Speaking at the launch event, Chaitanya said he had been waiting for this moment and expressed confidence in the project. He noted that he had long wanted to work on a large-scale film rooted in mythology and supported by substantial visual effects.
Director Karthik Dandu, who previously helmed Virupaksha, described the glimpse as an introduction to a much larger world. He stated that the teaser and trailer would offer a broader view of the film’s narrative and scale.
On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Ragul D Herian, with production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala. The background score is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, and editing is by Naveen Nooli.
With its first look, Vrushakarma sets the tone for a mythological thriller that combines supernatural elements with large-scale storytelling. Further promotional material is expected to provide more insight into the film’s world and storyline.
