One of the most renowned directors known for films like Indian and Robot, S Shankar recently celebrated a momentous occasion in his personal life as his daughter Aishwarya tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Chennai recently. It was a proud moment for this father and needless to say, it was also a star-studded affair considering that many superstars including Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Rajinikanth and Bollywood celebs like Ranveer Singh attended the event.
S Shankar took to social media to share glimpses of his daughter’s wedding wherein he posted several videos and pictures from the ceremony. Among them, he posted two videos of Ranveer Singh dancing his heart out. In one of them, the actor, who was in his usual enthusiastic elements, grooved to the beats of the famous Tamil song ‘Appadi Podu’, originally picturized on Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan from the 2004 drama Ghilli. For the unversed, the song sung by KK and Anuradha Sriram, became a rage during the early 2000s.

Attending the wedding was also Rajinikanth who has worked with Shankar in some of his biggest films like Sivaji: The Boss and Enthiran, which was released in Hindi as Robot, as well as 2.0 co-starring Akshay Kumar. The filmmaker, who too was thrilled to see the megastar grace the wedding, took to the platform to share a photo of the same and captioned it saying ‘Boss’ and dropped a white-heart emoji.

In a video shared by the director, another series of guests who attended the wedding including his Indian actor Kamal Haasan, superstar Suriya with his family as well as his younger brother Karthi, among others.

Meanwhile, on the work front, S Shankar is gearing up for the release of Game Changer which marks the return of Ram Charan in theatres post the success of RRR. The film also stars Kiara Advani as his leading lady. Apart from that, the much-awaited Indian 2 is also in the pipeline which features Kamal Haasan reprising the role of former freedom fighter-turned-vigilante Senapathy along with Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles.
