Earlier this week, India woke up to the great news of the country creating history at the 95th Academy Awards that was held in Los Angeles, USA. It was attended by the team of two nominated films, RRR for ‘Naatu Naatu’ and the documentary, The Elephant Whisperers. And both managed to win their respective categories, making it one of the most iconic moments. RRR’s leading man Ram Charan, who was also a part of the function, was recently in Delhi for an event and not surprisingly, was thronged by fans who wanted to congratulate him.
Not too long ago, we had reported about how Jr NTR was mobbed when he landed at the Hyderabad airport post Oscars 2023. The situation was no different for Ram Charan. The latter got a tad bit overwhelmed with the kind of response his periodic drama received and also expressed his gratitude towards his fans for making it such a huge success. He was quoted saying to ANI, "I am pleased & happy. Thank you, everyone.”
He further went on to add, “We are proud of MM Keeravani, SS Rajamouli & Chandrabose. Because of their hard work, we went to the red carpet & brought Oscar for India... I thank all the fans and people from North to South and East to West parts of India for watching RRR & making the ‘Naatu Naatu’ song a superhit. ‘Naatu Naatu’ was not our song it was the song of the people of India. It gave us an avenue for the Oscars."
For the unversed, ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscars for the Best Original Song whereas The Elephant Whisperers Best Documentary-Short Film.
Speaking of RRR, the film is set in the pre-Independence era with Ram Charan essaying the role of a police officer whereas Jr NTR is seen as a rebellious revolutionary. The film is directed by S.S. Rajamouli.
