Ram Charan, Boman Irani, and Divyenndu participated in a coffee table chat to discuss their upcoming film, Peddi. The film is scheduled for a worldwide premiere on June 3, 2026, followed by its theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
Peddi is a Telugu-language sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana. Set in 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh, the film follows a spirited villager who unites his community through a sport to stand up to a powerful rival. Ram Charan plays the titular role, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, and Boman Irani. Shruti Haasan appears in a special appearance in the song 'Hellallallo'.
During the chat, when asked about preparing for the role, Ram Charan said, “I don't know something it happened automatic or did I prepare for it. I don't know. You do prepare for it mainly. But maybe I don't know it's the preparation. But somewhere the journey starts from getting into the emotion of the narration. I am trying to see the flavour of the narration. And it has to be authentic. I am trying to be (as) authentic as possible. Sincere in your eyes, in your action. I never try to overpower the scene. That is kind of my preparation. I try to stick and I have my confidence that it will work by sticking to the skin of the scene and not trying to scratch the skin.”
The film's soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman. Songs released so far include 'Chikiri Chikiri', 'Rai Rai Raa Raa', and 'Hellallallo'. A promotional musical event was held on May 23 in Bhopal, attended by the cast and crew including A. R. Rahman.
Peddi is written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. IVY Entertainment serves as co-producer. The technical team includes cinematographer R. Rathnavelu, production designer Avinash Kolla, and editor Navin Nooli. Jio Studios will handle the North India release.
