Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, SS Rajamouli to attend Golden Globes 2023 as RRR gets nominated in two categories

Actors Ram Charan and Jr. NTR and filmmaker SS Rajamouli will be attending Golden Globes 2023. The ceremony is set to take place on January 11 in Los Angeles. For the uninitiated, the RRR song, ‘Naatu Naatu’ and the film itself are nominated in Best Original Song and Best Foreign Film categories, respectively.

Following the nominations last month, an elated Ram Charan took to Twitter to say, “What a proud moment @ssrajamouli garu! Can’t wait to see you conquer world cinema Honoured that #RRRMovie bagged the Best Non-English Language Film and the Best Original Song nominations at the @goldenglobes awards! Congratulations team RRR!!”

Rajamouli earlier took to Twitter and wrote, “Thanks to the jury at @goldenglobes for nominating #RRRMovie in two categories. Congratulations to the entire team…Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support through out.”

RRR actor Jr. NTR had also expressed his excitement saying, “Delighted that #RRRMovie has been nominated in two categories at the Golden Globe Awards! Congratulations to all of us… Looking forward.”

The film has been nominated in the Best Picture – Non-English Language category. It will compete against All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Close and Decision to Leave. The second nomination is for the RRR song 'Naatu Naatu' in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category. The song will compete against 'Carolina' from Where the Crawdads Sing, 'Ciao Papa' from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick and 'Lift Me Up' from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

According to the Bollywood Hungama box office report, the film made a lifetime collection of Rs. 274.31 crores in Hindi.

RRR is a multi-starrer action drama, starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt, and is amongst the most acclaimed Indian films of the year.
