In what appears to be a repudiation of his earlier claims to be an international star, Ram Charan has decided to drop the ‘Global Star’ appellation from his name and revert to his earlier appellation ‘Mega Star’ for his future films.
The stepping out of his ‘Global Star’ aspirations is not coincidental. For long, Ram Charan has been uncomfortable with it.
Explained one of Ram Charan’s colleagues, “Ram was never comfortable with this ‘Global Star’ business. It was part of SS Rajamouli’s campaign to project RRR as an international project. Both NTR Jr and Ram Charan did their own personal campaigning abroad at their own expense during the film. But the ‘global’ tag was not justified by anything which Ram Charan did after RRR. He has rightly dropped the ‘global’ claims.”
Earlier, Vijay Deverakonda dropped the appellation ‘THE’ from his screen name.
