Ram Charan backs Buchi Babu Sana ahead of Peddi release: “He will be among the top 4 directors”

Actor Ram Charan has expressed confidence in filmmaker Buchi Babu Sana ahead of the release of Peddi, praising the director's growth since his debut feature Uppena and highlighting the scale at which the upcoming film has been mounted.

Speaking about his collaboration with the filmmaker, Ram Charan said that Buchi Babu Sana has significantly expanded his vision with Peddi and predicted a promising future for the director. “Buchi Babu Sana has scaled up Peddi so well. Being the first film director to have obviously done a very good job with his debut film, Uppena, earning Rs 100 crores and a National Award. Mark my words, Buchi Babu Sana will be among the top four directors in the next few years. He is a man who weighs just 55-60 kgs, and Janhvi can literally crush him with her hands (laughs). But Buchi has the brain of an elephant. He is one of the most blessed Saraswati Putras we have right now. I wish him all the best,” Ram Charan said.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi features Ram Charan in the lead role alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. The film has attracted attention through its promotional material, particularly Ram Charan's character transformation. The actor is set to portray multiple shades in the film, including a village cricketer and the character of Peddi Pehlwan.

Music composed by A. R. Rahman has also contributed to the film's visibility. Songs such as 'Chikiri Chikiri' and 'Rai Rai Raa Raa' have garnered significant viewership online since their release. Peddi is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers and IVY Entertainment. The film will be distributed in North India by Jio Studios. The film is scheduled to premiere globally on June 3, 2026, before its worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
