Rakul Preet Singh, who has won hearts of audiences in Hindi and South Cinema, was recently seen attending the prestigious IIFA Awards in Yas Island, Dubai. The actress who exuded charm as she sashayed the red carpet in an elegant avatar, also had a brief interaction with the media where she opened about Hindi and the South Indian film industry since the actress has worked extensively with both. With South Indian cinema continuing to gain widespread exposure, Rakul shared her thoughts on the same.
Rakul Preet Singh says, “I think South Cinema always had the acceptance and the popularity” as she opens up about their exposure at IIFA 2024When Rakul was asked how she views the evolution of South cinema and its growing acceptance, she responded, “Well, I think they (South Cinema) always had the acceptance and they always had the popularity, it's just that it's become seamless now across the borders. I think South cinema was always huge. A lot of people watched those films on Set Max and Sony Max, right. So, there was always reach but I think what's happened with the onset of OTT and the digital revolution... It's become one platform where you celebrate Indian cinema across the language barriers. So, no language barriers and I think it's amazing because for me that's really a matter of great pride.” A video of her response was also posted by PTI on their social media page.
Speaking about the upcoming projects, Rakul Preet Singh, who was recently seen in the Pan Indian action drama Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan and Siddharth, is expected to be shooting for De De Pyaar De 2 co-starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan. Besides that, we hear that the actress also has the Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar starrer Meri Patni Ka Remake in the pipeline.
