Indian superstar Rajinikanth underwent a successful non-surgical procedure on Monday, September 30, for a medical condition affecting his heart. The procedure was performed at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, India. Before his hospitalization, Rajinikanth's wife, Latha Rajinikanth, had reassured the public that her husband was doing well and dismissed the need for further details.
As per the India Today report, the hospital released a statement confirming that the 73-year-old actor experienced swelling in a major blood vessel leading to his heart. To rectify the issue, a stent was placed within the aorta to effectively seal off the affected area. The procedure, known as endovascular repair, was conducted by a team of skilled medical professionals, led by senior interventional cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish. Following the procedure, Rajinikanth's condition is reported to be stable and improving. The hospital anticipates his discharge within a couple of days, allowing him to return home.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently preparing for the release of his upcoming film, Vettaiyan, which is directed by TJ Gnanavel and also features Amitabh Bachchan in a prominent role. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 10. Additionally, Rajinikanth is actively involved in the shooting of another film titled Coolie.
