The South film industry is booming. Raashii Khanna,, who recently appeared in Rudra, released on Disney+ Hotstar, found herself in a controversy for allegedly bad mouthing South Indian films.

According to several reports, the actress allegedly made statements and called South industry ‘sexist’ and mentioned how they refer to actresses with tags and labels to only consider them as faces and not appreciating them for their talent and brains. Fans were irked by this statement which led to massive criticism against her online.

However, Raashii took to Twitter to dismiss these “fake reports" and tweeted a post explaining that she has “utmost respect towards each and every language/film" she is a part of. She claimed that the statements and reports against her were “fabricated and misconstrued" and urged the people who are spreading these false statements to stop. “Some fabricated and misconstrued content about me bad-mouthing south films is doing the rounds on social media. I request whoever has been doing it to PLEASE STOP. I have utmost respect towards each and every language/film that I do. Let's be kind,” she wrote.

The actress had faced a lot of criticism, especially from south fans, online for her alleged statements about the industry, but her clarification tweet seems to have cleared some air.

On the work front, Raashii Khanna would next be seen in the movie Pakka Commercial opposite Gopichand, releasing on July 1, 2022. The film is directed by Maruthi Dasari. Additionally, she would be seen in a Vikram Kumar directorial named Thank You opposite Naga Chaitanya. The actress was recently seen in Ajay Devgn starrer Rudra and will next star in Shahid Kapoor’s Amazon series with Raj & DK.
