However, FEFKA has demanded a compensation for the losses incurred by the Malayalam distributors and producers after their films were boycotted.

Just a couple of days ago, the multiplex major PVR-INOX decided to boycott Malayalam films and even stopped the ongoing screening of Malayalam films like Aadujeevitham, over a feud with distributors and producers regarding change of content provider. However, on April 14, which marks an auspicious occasion in Kerala, the multiplex chain owners announced the re-release of these films in these theatres.

Confirming the same, popular entertainment writer Sreedhar Pillai have revealed in his official social media handle on Saturday evening, that the issues have been resolved, because of which PVR-INOX will now start the screening of all films including Aadujeevitham which will resume in these theatres. His statement said, “PVRINOX vs Kerala Film Producers Association issue over VPF resolved! #PVRINOX Will start advance booking in all their properties for new and earlier released #Malayalam films with immediate effect. Probably from Vishu day!”

Meanwhile, as per PTI reports, Film Employees Federation of Kerala aka FEFKA has asserted in a press statement, issued on April 13, that the feud will not be resolved until Malayalam producers, who suffered losses due to their films not being screened, are to be compensated for the same. Unnikrishnan B, general secretary of FEFKA along with Aadujeevitham director Blessy and Varshangalkku Shesham director Vineeth Sreenivasan stated at the press conference, "It is not just a question of the problems of the film producers, it is also a question of the pride of Malayalam cinema and Malayalees as a whole. Therefore, we have decided that unless the producers are compensated for the loss they have suffered for the number of days their films were not shown, no Malayalam cinema would be given to any PVR theatre or screen anywhere. The producers' association have also assured us of their support”.

However, PVR-Inox is yet to respond to these demands made by the producers of Malayalam Cinema.
