Prithviraj Sukumaran, after basking in the success of Aadujeevitham, has returned to familiar territory with his directorial prowess. Following the triumph of his directorial debut, Lucifer, which garnered critical acclaim and stormed the box office in Malayalam cinema, Prithviraj is now steering the ship once again with L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal in the lead, which is expected to be a sequel to the massy political entertainer.

The film, currently in its fourth shooting schedule in Chennai, sees Prithviraj back in action, captured in behind-the-scenes glimpses shared from the set. In these images, he is in action as a filmmaker and is presumably directing his team for a pivotal scene. He captioned these images saying, “On to home turf next! #L2E #EMPURAAN.”

Prithviraj's recent portrayal of Najeeb in Aadujeevitham has earned him widespread acclaim as an actor. Considering the same and the success of Lucifer, there has been heightened anticipation for his next directorial venture.

The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster boasts a star-studded cast, headlined by the legendary Mohanlal. And alongside the Malayalam superstar , the film will also feature powerhouse performers like Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran, promising a cinematic experience that fans won't soon forget.

With Prithviraj at the helm, L2: Empuraan is poised to carry forward the legacy of its predecessor while carving its own path in the annals of Malayalam cinema. As the film continues to take shape on the sets in Chennai, fans eagerly await its release. Earlier it was also reported that apart from India, the film will also have extensive shoot in countries across Europe.

For the unversed, the upcoming massy entertainer is also expected touch upon the journey of Mohanlal’s character Stephen Nedumpally becoming one of the most feared men, Khureshi Ab'raam.
