Prithviraj Sukumaran to join hands with Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj, claims reports : Bollywood News

Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is gearing up for some big releases, is expected to have bagged another major venture. Bringing together the duo of filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and megastar Rajnikanth, the film, which is being referred to as Thalaivar 171, is now expected to also feature the Malayalam actor-filmmaker. Sources reveal that the actor has expressed interest in joining hands with them after he was approached recently.

According to latest reports, Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen as the antagonist in this entertainer but no official announcement has been made by the makers or the cast. Thalaivar 171 is expected to be still in the initial stages since the team is busy with their other work commitments. For the unversed, Rajinikanth is currently busy with his other untitled venture, Thalaivar 170 which is expected to feature an ensemble cast including actors from other film industries. Speaking of Thalaivar 171, it is expected to see the reunion of the Jailer trio which includes the megastar with production house Sun Pictures and music composer Anirudh Ravichander. However, it is being said that the actor will join hands with Lokesh only after he wraps up Thalaivar 170.

Reports have it that there were a few actors like Malayalam superstar Mammootty who were approached for this role but it eventually dropped to Prithviraj Sukumaran. The Malayalam actor-filmmaker is also expected to have a busy schedule in the coming year. While fans of Prithviraj are eagerly waiting to see him in a unique role in the Pan India entertainer Salaar with Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, the actor also has The Goat Life in the pipeline for release next year. Besides that, he has also kicked off work on L2: Empuraan, a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Mohanlal starrer Lucifer.
