Nivin Pauly gets clean chit in sexual assault case; probe confirms his absence from crime scene : Bollywood News

In a significant development, Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly has been acquitted of sexual assault allegations levelled against him. The charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, with investigations revealing that Pauly was not present at the crime scene. According to the DYSP Kothamangalam's report submitted to the First Class Magistrate Court, Pauly's absence from the reported location was confirmed through conclusive proof.

Initially, the complainant had identified Pauly as the sixth accused in the case. The acquittal brings relief to Pauly, who had been facing severe scrutiny. The actor took to social media to express gratitude to those who supported him during this challenging period. In a heartfelt note, Pauly thanked everyone who lent him help and stood by him. In the note, the actor penned a message in Malayalam and English wherein he wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by me. Thanks for all the love, prayers, and support” and also captioned with multiple folded hands emojis. Many of the actor's supporters including many industry insiders have welcomed the verdict, and Pauly's reputation as a respected figure in the Malayalam film industry remains intact.

In September, the Malayalam film industry was rocked by shocking allegations against Nivin Pauly, stemming from the Hema Committee reports wherein a woman accused him of harassing her in the pretext of offering a movie. A Special Investigating Team (SIT) swiftly registered a case under the Oonnukal police, sending shockwaves through the fraternity. Terming these accusations as ‘baseless’, Nivin Pauly addressed the FIR at a press conference, where he vehemently denied the charges, vowing to "fight it legally" and "go to any lengths" to prove his innocence as he suspected a conspiracy.
