Nayanthara and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Gold postponed; will not release on Onam : Bollywood News

While fans were eagerly waiting to see what Nayanthara and Prithviraj Sukumaran will get together onscreen, it seems that their wait period just extended. The film titled Gold which was to release next week during Onam has now been postponed. Director of the film, Alphonse Puthren took to social media to confirm the news and also apologized to the fans, asserting that they will make it up for it.

Director Alphonso Puthren announced that the film will be released a week after Onam in his social media post. Taking to Twitter, he posted a message saying, “Due to work delay on our side “Gold” will be releasing one week after Onam. Please forgive us for the delay caused. Hoping to compensate for this delay through our work when “Gold” releases.”

The recently released teaser of Gold features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Joshi.S., Justin John as JJ, M.A. Shiyas as Baby Kunju, Faisal Muhammed as Faiz. In the teaser, Prithviraj walks in slow motion as the three look on and when he reaches near them, he lifts his leg to kick Faiz. The scene then takes you to a relaxed Lady Superstar Nayanthara who plays the role of Sumangali Unnikrishnan. She is seen enjoying a tub of popcorn as she is chilling on a couch. The 2-minute teaser, that released about five months ago, didn’t reveal much as the story of the film is being kept under wraps.

Further talking about the team of Gold, it is expected to feature an ensemble cast that also includes Ajmal Amir, Lalu Alex, Mallika Sukumaran, Shammi Thilakan, and Baburaj among others. The teaser also reveals that there are many special cameos by renowned actors but refrains from giving out any details. Produced under the banner Prithviraj Productions & Magic Frames, the film is expected to release in Malayalam and Tamil simultaneously.
