Naga Chaitanya starrer NC23 gets titled as Thandel; makers unveil first look poster

Makers have also revealed that they will be giving Chay fans another surprise on his birthday, that is, on November 23.

Naga Chaitanya and director Chandoo Mondeti are all set to kick start work on NC23 to be since it will start rolling in December. This is one of the most awaited movies for Naga Chaitanya fans and adding to the anticipation is the collaboration with Chandoo Mondeti who delivered a Pan India blockbuster with his last Karthikeya 2. With NC23 being the most expensive movie of the actor, makers have left no stone unturned. And a day before the actor’s birthday, they unveiled its title as Thandel.

For the unversed, Naga Chaitanya will be turning a year older on November 23. Considering, the makers have also promised to provide another big treat on his birthday. Speaking of the film’s title Thandel it is expected to comprise of multiple meanings which includes energetic, charismatic, ambitious, and focused. A source close to the film revealed that the aim of title was to showcase how if a person has a true passion for something, he can give everything for it. Along with that, the makers also unveiled the first look poster of the film. However, it doesn’t feature the face of the leading actor.

Speaking of the film, the source added, “Naga Chaitanya switched to beast mode to play a fisherman in the movie and has undergone intense workouts for the last few months to gain this muscular look. He will be seen sporting a rugged look with long hair and beard.” The poster features the star sitting on a boat with an oar in his hand, and a stern gaze. Chay shared the pic on social media and expressed his excitement saying, “A character I’m really looking forward to playing .. and a team I’m really fond of”. He also revealed that the shoot of the film will be beginning soon.

The story of the movie is said to be based on real incidents and the shoot too, we hear, will take place in original locations. The film also Sai Pallavi as the leading lady. Speaking of the rest of the cast and crew, National-award-winning composer- Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is roped in to the soundtracks and score for this love story. Shamdat will be handling the camera whereas Srinagendra Tangala will look after the art department. The team has completed their pre-production work and will commence shoot from December onwards.
