Music Rights of Dulquer Salmaan starrer King of Kotha gets purchased Sony Music South : Bollywood News

The Dulquer Salmaan starrer King of Kotha has garnered ample anticipation ever since it was announced. The first look posters of the film have also received a lot of appreciation, owing to the gangster vibe of it. And now, it has been revealed that the music rights of the film is bagged by Sony Music South, which is a sub division for Sony Music and looks into the music of all South Indian films.

In the past, Sony Music has composed music for many films down South in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu languages. Coming to King of Kotha, the film is a gangster drama featuring Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady alongside Dulquer Salmaan. The film also marks the directorial debut of filmmaker Abhilash Joshy. While launching the first look poster of the film, Dulquer had penned a note about it calling it his ‘homecoming’ film as he was returning to Malayalam Cinema after a short gap. For the unversed, Dulquer’s last few releases included the Pan India film Sita Ramam (originally in Telugu) and Chup in Hindi.

Talking about returning to Malayalam cinema post a break, Dulquer had said, “This film is a homecoming in so many ways. I’m back to Malayalam after a gap. I join hands with the first person I called my friend @abhilash_joshiy ! It’s his debut film but brings with him a decade of experience in brand films and cinema. Another first is that we are partnering with @zeestudiosofficial in what is their maiden association in the Malayalam Film Industry!”

He had concluded by adding, “This is a film we truly believe in and are pulling all stops to bring to you the best theatrical experience while staying true to its narrative.”

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan himself under his production Wayfarer Films in association with Zee Studios South, King of Kotha is expected to release during Onam 2023.
