South Indian actor Mohanlal has entertained the audience for the past forty years and continues to do so. Over the years, he has gained the love of many through his art. As he turns 60 today, the Thiruvananthapuram District Mohanlal Fans Association gave their consent for donating their organs to the state-run 'Mrithasanjeevani' programme. Kerala health ministry initiated the project Mrithasanjeevani for brain-dead organ transplantation in 2012 coordinating the government and private hospitals in the state.

Five hundred members of the association pledged to donate their organs. State Health Minister KK Shailaja said that this was a noble act and Mohanlal has always been a friend of the health department. She said that Mohanlal is the goodwill ambassador of 'Mrithasanjeevani' programme and this act by his fans is worth appreciating.
Mohanlal has worked in over 346 feature films and continues to amaze people with his body of work. On his birthday, actors and fans from across the country took to social media to wish him.
