On November 15, Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata Shirodkar launched the Superstar Krishna Educational Fund as a part of the Mahesh Babu Foundation.

A year ago, on November 15, Mahesh Babu lost his father Krishna Ghattamaneni, a popular star, director, and producer, predominantly known for his work in Telugu Cinema. Now in 2023, on his first death anniversary, the Telugu Prince, decided to champion for a social cause. His new foundation, set up by his wife and former actress Namrata Shirodkar, is expected to help fund 40 underprivileged students and the announcement was made by Mahesh on November 15 in memory of his father.

Mahesh Babu took to social media to share a photo featuring the sketches of his late father Krishna Ghattamaneni and mother Indira Devi, along with that he posted a caption saying, “One year of missing you... Superstar, always and forever <3<3<3”. His post received a lot of love from friends, family, and loved ones. One amongst them was his sister-in-law and 90s actress Shilpa Shirodkar who dropped heart emojis on the post. The photo is expected to have been posted from the event which was planned as a tribute to the superstar’s late father.

On the other hand, Mahesh’s wife and former actress Namrata Shirodkar also penned a heartfelt note, along with sharing photos from the said event. Her note read, “We miss you, Mamayya Garu, and you will always remain in our thoughts and prayers. May your soul continue to rest in peace, and may we honour your memory by spreading the same love and warmth you graciously gave to us.” 


Along with that, the actress also posted a video giving a glimpse of their new foundation and announced about supporting 40 students saying, “As a tribute to Superstar Krishna garu, the Mahesh Babu foundation has recently launched the Superstar Krishna Educational Fund. The program supports over 40 merit students ranging from schooling to postgraduate studies, who come from families below the poverty line. It supports children with aspirations by helping them turn their dreams into reality.”


On the work front, fans of Mahesh Babu are eagerly awaiting the release of Guntur Kaaram, which is expected to feature Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanand, Jagapathi Babu, among others. The film, which marks his return with Trivikram Srinivas, is expected to release in January 2024.
