The bond between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam is not just of colleagues but of friends and family. The filmmaker and the Tamil superstar have time and again confessed about the deep friendship between them. On the occasion of the Ponniyin Selvan director’s birthday, Kamal penned a heartfelt note for his ‘nanban (friend)’ as he also gushed about the marvellous directorial skills of his friend and expressed his eagerness about taking their professional journey ahead with KH 234.

For the unversed, during a press conference of Ponniyin Selvan, Mani Ratnam had confessed that the filmmaker was keen on kicking off the Chola Empire epic drama film with Kamal Haasan and the two of them were excited to kick start the project. While that couldn’t materialize, the filmmaker and actor are now all set to reunite after 36 years with KH 234. However, details of the film including the cast is yet to be announced along with finalizing the title for the same.
