The electrifying beats of ‘Naatu Naatu’ reverberated once again, this time on the grand stage of the Oscars 2024. As the world awaited the prestigious award for Best Original Song, audiences were treated to a familiar sight: the vibrant visuals of the chart-topping song from SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, RRR, gracing the big screen which won last year at the Academy Awards.
The song, which had secured the coveted Oscar in the same category the previous year, made a cameo appearance during the presentation of the Best Original Song award. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo took center stage to announce the winner amidst a backdrop of pulsating rhythms and colorful imagery from ‘Naatu Naatu’. The official social media page of RRR promptly shared the moment with the caption, “On the #Oscars stage again!!! #RRRMovie.”
For those unacquainted with its accolades, ‘Naatu Naatu’ had made history the previous year by becoming the first Indian song to clinch the prestigious Oscar trophy for Best Original Song.

In another moment, RRR’s action sequences were included in a montage, introduced by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The official account of RRR wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “And again, a sweet surprise for us… Glad that @TheAcademy included #RRRMovie action sequences as part of their tribute to the world’s greatest stunt sequences in cinema.”

Meanwhile, RRR will reportedly have a sequel. RRR writer Vijayendra Prasad said last year, “It’s both a yes and a no...After the release of RRR, I shared an idea of the sequel where the story continues with Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr) set in Africa.”
