The number of positive cases of Coronavirus in the country has seen a rise in the past few days. In order to prevent the spread of the virus, the central government has announced a nationwide lockdown for three weeks that started on March 25. Now, celebrities have started contributing to fight the virus.
Actor Ram Charan who joined the social media platform Twitter today took to his handle and announced his contribution. In his very first tweet, the actor announced that he will donate Rs. 70 lakhs to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM FUnds to fight the virus. He took to Twitter and shared an official statement on the same which read, “Inspired by Pawan Kalyan Garu's tweet, I would like to contribute 70 lakh towards the Centre and States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Relief Fund in this moment of crisis. I would like to applaud the commendable efforts of our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji & Honourable Chief Ministers of our respective states, KCR Garu and Jagan Mohan Reddy Garu in curtailing the vast effects of the pandemic COVID 19. As a responsible citizen. I encourage all to strictly abide by their rules & recommendations.”

Earlier today, Pawan Kalyan took to Twitter to announce his contribution of Rs. 50 lakhs each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CM Fund. He also tweeted that he will donate Rs. 1 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund
