The anticipation surrounding the collaboration between Kamal Haasan and director Shankar has reached fever pitch with the much-awaited sequel, Bharateeyudu 2, known as Indian 2 in Tamil. The original Indian, released in 1996, aw Kamal Haasan's portrayal of Senapathy, a vigilante who waged a lone battle against corruption, became the stuff of legend. Now, with Indian 2, audiences are eager to witness Haasan's iconic character return to the screen.
On the occasion of Tamil New Year on Sunday, Lyca Productions took to their social media handles to release a new poster. “(stars emoji) Senapathy (fingers crossed emoji) is all set to resurrect with zero tolerance in INDIAN-2. Gear up for the epic sequel in cinemas from June 2024. (stars-shaped eyes emoji) Consider it a red alert wherever injustice prevails. (red alert emoji) Indian 2.”

The recently released posters offer a glimpse into what lies ahead. Featuring an aged Kamal Haasan in two distinct looks, the posters hint at the depth and complexity of the narrative. In one image, Haasan is seen clad in a white suit, while in the other, he dons the uniform of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj.
Indian 2 also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal. It is set for a June 2024 release.
