Despite shooting for Mamangam, here’s why Neeraj Madhav did not make it to the final cut of the Mammootty starrer

Neeraj Madhav who was last seen in the much-praised Amazon series The Family Man was expected to be seen in Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s period drama Mamangam. However, the film that released on December 12 did not feature Neeraj Madhav. On Friday the actor took to his social media handle to explain why he was not a part of the film despite shooting for his cameo earlier this year.

Despite shooting for Mamangam, here's why Neeraj Madhav did not make it to the final cut of the Mammootty starrer

Neeraj Madhav took to Instagram and shared his look from the film. Along with the pictures, he wrote, “To all those who’ve been asking about my absence in Mamangam movie, here’s my explanation. As you all might know I was playing a cameo in it, and I had shot for the movie in last April for about a week. The cameo, being a significant one, I had actually put some effort into it by learning Kalaripayatu & other fighting techniques for over a month. Anyways things took a different turn and a lot of modifications happened in terms of the script, direction, stunt team, cast and the crew of the movie and I was told that my fight sequence does not fit into the current narrative and hence it was removed from the final cut. It’s a little disheartening, but I have no complaints whatsoever and hope it would’ve been a well-thought decision and for the greater good of the movie. Also I was told my deleted scenes will be uploaded in YouTube, so you all get to see it eventually. Wishing only luck to the entire cast and crew of Mamangam and guess I’ll have to wait even longer to work together with our beloved Mammukka!”
