The dubbing rights of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s upcoming film Acharya have been sold for Rs. 26 crore. The film which was initially supposed to hit the theatres in May this year has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Reportedly, the rights have been sold to Jayantilal Gada of PEN studios. The film has reportedly fetched one of the highest rates in the recent past.
Talking to a leading daily, Vijay Kumar who brokered the rights of the film said that the dubbing market is booming and most films are sold at the mahurat of the film. He said most of the South films are much in demand by the satellite channels. He also said that dubbing rights rates are growing exponentially with each passing day as the demand for content on digital media has also shot up.
As for Acharya, this is the first time that the father-son duo of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will be coming together for full-fledged roles. Acharya is directed by Koratala Siva and produced by Ram Charan’s Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments. The movie also stars Pooja Hedge, Sonu Sood, and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The makers have wrapped the shoot of the film barring two songs.
