Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are struggling to make ends meet because of the loss of job. Yesteryear actress Pavala Syamala sought financial help as she was struggling with day-to-day necessities. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi on learning of Pavala's plight donated an amount of Rs. 1,01,500 to her.
Chiranjeevi handed over a cheque to Pavala through his PRO Suresh Kondeti. The actor also got her enrolled in Movie Artists's Association(MAA) and she will now be receiving a monthly pension of Rs. 6000.
Actress Karate Kalyani had donated money to Pavala and made a video explaining her financial situation. Through this Chiranjeevi got to know about Pavala's situation and offered help. Syamala thanked Chiranjeevi and said, "Earlier, when I was struggling from financial crisis, Chiranjeevi’s daughter came forward and donated me Rs 2 lakh. Now, upon knowing about my situation, they once again gave me Rs 1 lakh with a monthly pension as well. I will be forever indebted to him.”
Meanwhile, Syamala was promised a pension of Rs.10,000 by the Telangana government. However, she has not been receiving it for the past few months. Syamala has acted in over 250 films and recently sold some of her awards to get money to run her house.
